NOTE if you are transferring your existing website to BCA server you should read the Transfer page first.

Once your domain is setup on the BCA server you'll be able to browse to your website at www.your-domain-name. However at this stage it will show a rather boring index of an almost empty directory.

BCA have made the decision to move away from FastHosts to Memset for our Internet Hosting Services. There are several reasons for the move:

	* Service Fasthosts had a good reputation when we signed up with them, but the level of service we have experienced on occasions has been very poor.
	* Control We have very little control over the server and rely on Fasthosts to make the changes we request. Frequently they wouldn't, spuriously claiming “security reasons” and thereby prevent perfectly go…

BCA Web Services aim to provide cheap web hosting for our members with the features that they need.

Currently we are in the process of moving to a new virtual server with a new Internet Host.

With the new server we can offer more services in the basic price. That includes a database, spam filtering, statistics, passworded areas and more. See Pricing for further information.

If you are transferring your existing website to BCA WebServices there are some extra steps to consider.

Should I transfer my domain name?

It is important to realise that your domain name (eg cscc.co.uk) is different from your webserver. The domain name is held by your Registrar and points to the server which hosts your webserver. Often these two jobs are done by the same provider but they can be done by two different providers.
