Re: Web and Email security - two tips

...and here is a tip from Matt Wire on forcing the WWW prefix to be dropped. Apparently, allowing both www and non-www URLs is "not helpful for SEO/analytics". RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(?:www\.)?(.+) [NC] RewriteRule ^ https://%1%{REQUEST_URI}?debug=%{TIME} [R=301,L] In the...

Web and Email security - two tips

Redirecting HTTP to HTTPS The new BCA server offers the HTTPS protocol at no added cost. If you want to direct your website readers to an HTTPS URL put this short bit of code in the .htaccess file in your document root. Submitting Articles to BCRA for publication

As Speleology is no longer published, we do not have a printed outlet for short caving articles and reviews. For items that are not suitable for Cave & Karst Science or the BCRA Review you could consider posting them here, where they will reside - if not for posterity - then at least as long as this...

Re: Monitor this board by subscribing to the BCA Forum Scann

A reminder... Those of you who subscribe to my BCA Forum Scanner will know that its notifications are not always "useful". This is because there is only a limited amount of information that can be gleaned by the "data mining" of public web pages (which is how it works). The Scanner cannot tell you a...

Re: Problems with WebMail on Britiac3

I have asked more people to try this, on a variety of tablets, phones and PCs and nobody has been able to get access. There is definitely a serious problem, Cookie. The fact that you can get in merely means, I suspect, that youve tweaked your computer in some cunning certificate-related way that the...
